PhotoHunt#90 Memorial

Capas National Shrine is one of the three national shrines that memorialized the World War II. The first World War II memorial I have visited was the Corregidor Island while the second one was the Shrine of Valor in Mt. Samat. All three memorials were witnesses to the deaths of thousands of American and Filipino soldiers during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines in World War II.

An impressive memorial for a terrible period in your country's history.

Beautiful photo. It is the appropriate shape for something that glorifies patriarchy and its habitual method of dealing with disagreement. So sad that the young are the ones who sacrifice all for the old angry men who usually are the leaders of war. WE should remember, and vow to change.
