Music Monday#31 The Prayer

I truly love this song. This is the version sang by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. I dedicate this song to the victims and their families of the Maguindanao massacre. I pray for the souls of the victims. May they rest in peace. May justice prevail soon!

PhotoHunt#66 Technology In China

When it comes to high technology, China always gets them. One good example is the MagLev train, the fastest train in the world. The MagLev runs from Shanghai Pudong International Airport to Longyang Road station. The travel took us less than 8 minutes on this train when it could have been almost an hour.

Photobucket

MagLev train is touted to achieve the speed of 501 km per hour (source: Wikipedia). Want proof? here goes and it was still increasing while I took this pic.

And by the way, the ride was smooth. In fact, much better than the ordinary plane ride.

2009 CNN Hero the Year: Efren Penaflorida, Jr.,

Congratulations to Efren Penaflorida, Jr. for winning the 2009 CNN Hero of the Year! You made us truly proud. You are an inspiration to our country and people. I pray that your kind will grow in numbers. You reminded us all that we don't need to wait for Superman to make a difference to the world and to help others live better lives. You also reminded us that we don't need to be in politics to actually start something to help improve the lives of others; that change do not start from others but from our own selves.

Watch New Moon Online For Free

Watch New Moon online for free...that thought came to my mind tonight when I saw the long line of people at the cinemas to watch the second installment of the Twilight Series, New Moon. All four cinemas in the mall that I went to had long lines. In fact, all seats were already taken but people were still lining up.

I have been anticipating this day to watch Taylor Lautner, Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart reprise their respective roles once again. Unfortunately, there were a lot of people who had the same thought. Anyway, I am not giving up yet. I'll try until next week. If can't watch it in movie theaters, for sure, I might try to watch New Moon online for free.

Right now, am sure that the New Moon box office sales are shooting right over the roof. Lucky werewolves and vampires!

God Bless Your Soul, Shaniya Davis

God bless your soul, Shaniya Davis.

I have been reading on the case of Shaniya Davis for days now. The pictures of her showed her smiling and happy like any little girl with a great future still ahead of her but the 5-year old little girl went missing in North Carolina. I was really hoping that she would be found alive but sadly, she was found dead on a forested area near a highway. The poor girl died of asphyxiation and was allegedly raped.

What is more of an aberration for me is that her mother, Antoinette Davis, was charged with trafficking and child abuse involving prostitution in relation to Shaniya Davis' death. The mother offered Shaniya to her boyfriend named Mario McNeill and then, she reported her missing a day after. What kind of mother would do that to any child especially her own daughter? What kind of human being would do that to a little child?

Let us pray for the repose of the soul of Shaniya Davis and may justice prevail as soon as possible.

Dancing With The Stars With No Air

I like the song, No Air by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown. I like it even more with this amazing dance in Dancing With The Stars. There was just so much raw emotion in the way the dancers did this song; and the ending, how did they do that? Thought Jackie Chan can only do that LOL! However, this time the act came out as sad not funny. Anyway, here's the video of the song.

Leonids Meteor Showers In The Philippines

Oh, how I wish we don't have these rains nowadays. The prolific Leonids meteor showers are going to visible for two days in the Philippines starting today, November 17 until tomorrow. If only the skies could clear up for these two days. Right now, we have overcast skies and it looks like it will stay for the entire day.

I have never seen a meteor shower in my entire life; that is why I want to see the Leonids. I shall keep hoping.

Music Monday#29 Just Once by James Ingram

I never get tired of this song and I always like James Ingram's songs. This song talks about trying again even if things are not working well. I think, this is how a relationship should be. Trying again and again before giving up. Anyway, this song is part of the soundtrack of the 80s movie, The Last American Virgin.

Pacquiao Wins A New Title

I was watching the Pacquiao vs Cotto Live Stream at the Globe Service Center just a few minutes ago. Thank goodness for Pacquiao-Cotto free online streaming, I got to watch the fight on real time and the fight is still ongoing on regular TV an hour after the fight.

We all know that Pacquiao is fast but it's always amazing to see him show that he has the speed of lightning and at different weight divisions at that. I can't help but be really impressed at him. I have to hand it to Cotto though, he stood his ground even if his face look all battered and swollen. He was knocked down on the 3rd round but eventually, they reached the 12th round with Manny Pacquiao still throwing punches like a maniac until the referee had to stop the fight. Pacquiao has now won a total of seven titles at seven different weight divisions; he is now a world record holder for that. He now holds Cotto's WBO welterweight belt.

Congrats, Manny Pacquiao!!! Mabuhay ka!! You made us proud again!

Black Friday Ads and Pacquiao-Cotto Fight

Nowadays, while shoppers are going crazy looking for black Friday ads for their pre-Christmas shopping, sports enthusiasts are going gaga looking for the Pacquiao-Cotto fight free live streaming.

Since am not much of a shopper myself, my priority right now is to look for a free live streaming of the Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto fight rather than finding good black friday ads 2009 online.

Miguel Cotto is looking good but my bet is on Manny Pacquiao. Go Manny!

The Pacquiaos' Thirst For Fame

Don't get me wrong in this. I am a big admirer of Manny Pacquiao, the boxer. These are just my observations.

We all know that Manny Pacquiao is a news magnet but nobody can say that his mother, Dionesia Pacquiao is not lacking some attention for herself too.

While Manny Pacquiao was busy training for his fight this weekend against Miguel Cotto , his mother was busy shooting her first film, Ang Tanging Pamilya, with costars Ai-ai delas Alas and Joseph Estrada. While Manny Pacquiao has become a major endorser of several advertisements, his mother who is fondly called Aling Dionesia has done the rounds of several TV stations for interviews and even did some dance number productions. While Manny Pacquiao is going to grace the covers of Time Magazine's November 16 issue, Dionesia Pacquiao would be busy promoting her first movie, Ang Tanging Pamilya.

Aling Dionesia was never the silent lady behind the man who is now touted as the best pound for pound boxer in the world. Long before the Pacman has become a household name internationally, his mother has always caught the attention of media because while Manny was fighting on the canvas against his opponent, some paparrazzi would be there right beside his mother while she was fervently praying her rosary in her bedroom as the fight was going on. In her interviews, she was honest as engaging in her answers to the extent that she would sometimes show off and tell the jewelries and gifts given to her by her beloved son and/or his wife.

I find it quite strange for Aling Dionesia to pursue this kind of attention because there were times that it seemed she was just being made fun of. It's a good thing that she's enjoying herself though; probably, more so now that she's already in the movies albeit with a weird make-up on.

It's not surprising then that Manny Pacquiao seems also determined to get his share of fame not only from his illustrious boxing career but also, in pursuing his political ambitions. The thirst for fame runs in the blood, after all.

Trips And Souvenirs

I had a nice surprise when a friend came by my desk this morning. She gave me an Eiffel Tower keychain and a refrigerator magnet with a picture of the Colloseum on it. She just came from her Europe trip and those two items were her souvenirs for me. It was too bad that we were quite busy with our monthly reports today that we were not able to talk much. I did not expect those souvenirs though as I know that her trip was an expensive one and souvenirs can be quite expensive if you do not know where and what to look for. This is why I felt thankful that she remembered to give me some souvenirs from her trip.

I remember our Australian trip several years ago. It was such a memorable and a dream come true trip for me but when it came to buying our souvenirs, we asked around for the best and most affordable souvenir stores before we finalized buying our souvenirs from Australia. As we usually buy souvenirs for our friends and families during our travels, we decided to just pool our money together to buy some souvenirs for our common friends. We bought some keychains for them. On the other hand, I bought two souvenir bags with aboriginal symbols on it and an Australian cap. I gave one of the bags to my mother and the other one, for my personal use. One of my friends bought t-shirts as souvenirs and the other one, bought an Australian boomerang.

I had so much fun with our Australian trip with my friends that we promised to return someday and hopefully, we can stay longer and do more sight-seeing.

It has become a routine for me for more than a year now and right now, I am missing it. I am thinking of finding another meme for Thursday but I don't feel it's right to do it. I'll just post some photos to compensate for the empty space that Litratong Pinoy meme has left for the meantime. Come back later to see the photos.
