Obama's Nobel Peace Prize

Obama's Nobel Peace Prize win came as no big surprise for me after reading his book, The Audacity of Hope. It can be gleaned in that book that the guy is serious about bringing together the American people beyond racial prejudices and beyond personal, selfish interests. He encourages better tolerance, keeping the peace but is not afraid to stand up against what's wrong. I was amazed at his conviction and belief that the American people can achieve peace and unity and subsequently, transcend these to the world.

I was actually wishing that if only our local politicians or so-called "statesmen" have half of Obama's conviction and belief in living side by side with other human beings peacefully, cooperating together to eradicate poverty and to improve the quality of education for the betterment of their lives, I think, my country would achieve its great potential.
