PhotoHunt#62 Bags

These are my new bags. They are spacious, sturdy, colorful and pretty. It is locally called bayong and can be used anywhere. I bought them last month from a trade fair. I love their colors and decided to buy two of them. The bags are environment friendly because like a lot of Philippine bags, they were handwoven and the materials used were indigenously made from plant stems and leaves.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is assisting cooperatives and associations mostly from the rural or countryside areas thru their livelihood programs. These bags are some of the products being made by these groups. The government agency is linking the producers and buyers of these products thru trade fairs, and other business events.
