Ruby Tuesday#5 Sea Urchin On The Red Boat

Reddish sea urchins on a red boat. The sea urchins were being sold for P10 at White Island, Camiguin. The sea urchin's shell were sliced open and the jelly-like insides were sold with ice, milk and sugar. I saw a vendor selling some but I was not able to try it.

I have seen black sea urchins with long spikes and this is the first time I saw red ones like these, they look like those brushes made of coconut husks.I just wonder what the taste is like.

i love sea urchins! especially when eaten raw--uni sashimi, it has a rich flavor, just delicious. but it's an acquired taste, i guess. :D

we used to collect the shells of sea urchins. I think I would have to be pretty hungry to eat the insides though.

Sea urchins are so hard to hold with their sharp spins, I don't think I would try to eat one... ouch:D

the only time i saw a sea urchin was in puerto galera. i wonder what they taste like?!
