PhotoHunt#80 Foreign

There's always something exciting and interesting when traveling in a foreign land. China is one of the countries that I find really fascinating. Different language, different people with their different culture and just about different everything.

Forbidden City,Beijing,China
This photo is of one of the buildings inside the Forbidden City in Beijing, China. Forbidden City is the world's largest surviving palace complex and it covers about 72 hectares. One day is just not enough to see all of the complex which was home to the Chinese Emperor and his household from Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. Inside one can see a glimpse of how the Chinese royalty lived and how were they different from the people outside the palace gates.

My son, a student of Chinese history, would absolutely flip to see that place.

My Photo Hunters is up. I hope you have some time to take a peek. Happy weekend!

Oh my, the forbidden city! I would love to visit China some day! But even if you live far from China, you are alot closer than I am. Or maybe you are more isolated because you live on an island?
Well, your photo is certainly appropriate for the theme, since you are in a foreign country when you are in China (as I would be too).
Happy Weekend,
Anna

I've been to the Forbidden City. It was 25 years ago, but still fresh in my mind.

I have visited Korea four times and Japan twice...I hope to see China someday. This photo is inspiring me to think in that direction. Beautiful color and composition!

That is a great shot. I have read a tiny, tiny bit of the history of the Forbidden City and its just so amazing.

My camera? Canon Rebel XSi. I love it and it has so many features that I don't think I'll ever totally learn it!
