Star Magic artists such as Jake Cuenca, Piolo Pascual, Gerald Anderson and among others are now Pag-IBIG members. Actors, actresses, artists and other self-employed individuals are now compulsorily covered under Pag-IBIG Fund.

Effective January 1, 2010, Pag-IBIG membership is mandatory not only to employed individuals but also those who earn their living as freelancers, job orders, consultants and etc regardless of trade, business or occupation with an income of at least P1,000 a month and not over 60 years old.
A self-employed person may include but not limited to: self-employed professionals (eg. doctors, lawyers, engineers, architects, etc), job orders, contractuals, consultants, business partners, proprietors and board directors; actors, actresses, directors, scriptwriters, news reporters and individuals who are not under an employer-employee relationship, athletes, farmers and workers in the informal sector such as street vendors, watch your car boys, among others.
