Litratong Pinoy#156 Delicious (Masarap)

Grilled fish and barbecued pork with a cup of rice downed with Coca-cola afterwards. This was our very delicious dinner during our last night in Boracay while on vacation with my mother last August.

Pilipino:
Inihaw na isda at barbikyung baboy kasama ng isang tasang kanin at hinugasan ng Coca-cola pagkatapos. Ito ang napakamasarap naming hapunan noong huling gabi ng bakasyon namin ng nanay ko sa Boracay noong nakaraang buwan ng Agosto.

Litratong Pinoy#154 Manipis(Thin)

They used thin cloths for the kites in Boracay but they were really sturdy. The cloth can pull and carry one person through the waters, again and again. It was really amazing to watch and seemed so easy to do but I know, it was not that easy.

Manipis lang na tela ang gamit sa saranggola ng Boracay pero talagang matibay ito. Kaya nitong hilahin at buhatin ang isang tao sa tubig, pabalik-balik. Nakakatuwang tingnan na parang ang daling gawin lang pero alam kong, hindi siya madali.

Our Garden Room at Blue Mango Inn, Barangay Manoc-manoc, Boracay Island. I love it!

Not only did I love our room. I also love the wooden bed with its headboard designed with the coconut tree. My mother wanted to take home this wooden cabinet with coconut design.

Litratong Pinoy#153 Maliit (Small)

These are small souvenirs from Boracay. I wanted to buy some but they were a bit expensive at P85 each. I was haggling with the saleslday but she has gotten irritated and uncooperative. So, I didn't buy anything from her and instead bought something else for my souvenirs. I just took some photos of them.

Mga maliliit na pasalubong galing Boracay. Gusto ko sanang bilihin kaso may kamahalan sa P85 ang isa. Tinatawaran ko sana para makabili ako ng marami kaso medyo nagsuplada ang tindera. Ayun! hindi ko siya binilihan at iba ang binili kong pasalubong. Nilitratuhan ko na lang.

Ruby Tuesday#114 Red Coke Bag

This red coke bag is made of recycled coke cans. It was being sold in one of the stores in Boracay's D'Mall. Recycled bags like these have already made its way to the fashion couture. What a hip and cool way to help preserve our environment.

Tuesday Travels#10 Wet and Wild

While Typhoon Mina battered the northern parts of the Philippines, the winds at Boracay Island were too windy for people to go swimming.

Only the local dogs dared to get wet and played wildly with the waves. Nonetheless, the view along the White Beach was still really beautiful.

PhotoHunt#148 Wrong

Yes, it is wrong to eat and eat especially the sweet ones. But when you've been walking for hours under the hot sun by the beach, drinking water is just not enough to quench the thirst. I want ice cream, sundae and ice! Preferably, all in one glass. Woot! So, here it is at P140 from one of the kiosks in D'Mall, Boracay Island. Expensive but it was all worth it!

Litratong Pinoy#151 Liwanag (Light)

I find firedancers really cool. It was not easy to twirl something around your wrist and more so if it was on fire. Surely, the fire they were carrying was too hot and too bright for their eyes but they continued dancing just to earn money. The photo was taken in Boracay Island. Every night, these dancers perform at Station 2 of the said island.

Bilib ako sa mga mananayaw na ito. Hindi madaling magpa-ikot sa kamay ng isang bagay lalo pa't ito'y nag-aapoy. Siguradong mainit at maliwanag sa mata ang dala-dala nilang apoy pero sige pa rin sila para lang kumita. Kuha ang litratong ito sa isla ng Boracay. Gabi-gabi, ginagawa ito ng mga mananayaw sa may estasyon 2 ng sinabing isla.

Boracay Hotels and Iloilo Inns

Once again, I will be traveling somewhere this month. I am quite excited about it because I'll be taking my mother with me. It'll be her first time to Iloilo and Boracay. It has been years since I've been to these places and I've been trying to find some affordable Boracay Hotels and Iloilo inns. The plan is to stay for two nights on both places and see as much as we can. I am praying that the weather will permit us to do a lot of sight-seeing. Will keep my fingers crossed for that. In the meantime, a friend has promised to help me find the Boracay hotels but so far she only offered the ones in Station 2 which I know can be quite noisy and populated especially during the nights. The preference is either on Station 1 or Station 3. I'm letting my fingers do the walking while I wait for my friend's text messages.

No eating in Boracay’s Front Beach

I saw this news about Boracay’s local government’s law on prohibiting eating in the Boracay’s front beach. This one is really good news and I will really commend the local government if they will actually implement and will be able to sustain the said implementation. I have been to Boracay several times and have been witnessed to the deterioration of the world famous beach island. Each time I get there, the feelings of horror and dismay get deeper. The island is being abused!

People really show their greed and uncaring ways to the environment just so they could fatten up their bank accounts. Restaurants and resorts are battling for space by the front beach trying to lure customers by disobeying laws/ordinances and being unmindful of the effect of their greedy actions.

Yes, the ambience is good if you eat by the beach with just candlelight to light your food but because of it, garbage presence has increased and nobody likes to clean afterwards. It would have been better if everybody could try not to make the beach and the sea their garbage disposal area but a lot of people could not care less. Oh yes, it gets worse, if some people decide to get drunk and get rowdy there and spend their time till morning. When and if the sea air have ever gotten into their brains and they realize they need to clean up after their mess, it is already too late since the garbage have already been washed away by the sea. What would the seawater carry? Plastic, glasses, bottles and what nots that can harm or even kill the marine life and uglify the beach.

Anyway, for beachgoers and who are planning to get there, would you rather forego eating on the beach and help maintain sustain Boracay’s beauty for the coming generations or would you just let it loose and just say que sera sera?
